Pastor’s Corner

April 25, 2010

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

This weekend is designated as the World Day of Prayer for Vocations, especially vocation to the priesthood. I would like to encourage all of you to please pray with all your hearts for vocations.

In this spirit of praying for the priesthood, I also would like to share to you the sad news but also the good news:

First, the sad news is that we are going to miss Fr. Raphael Xuan Nguyen and Fr. Wayne Adajar so much for all their love, care, service, labor and dedication serving our parish in the past 3-4 years. The Diocese has officially assigned them to different parishes: 1) Fr. Raphael will be the Parochial Vicar at St. Barbara in Santa Ana, our neighboring parish, not too far away; 2) Fr. Wayne will be the Parochial Vicar at St. Kilian in Mission Viejo. Please help me express our deep gratitude to them for all their love and dedication in serving our parish: they will always be in our hearts and prayers; we all try to live out our faith as one united parish in every aspect of our parish life, according to their efforts and wish; 3) We also wish them the best in their new assignment!

Second, the good news is that we will have two new parochial Vicars coming to serve our parish in July 01, 2010: 1) Fr. Benjamin Tran, former Parochial Vicar of St. Callistus in Garden Grove: he was ordained 4 years ago; this is also his home parish; so we welcome him home! 2) Fr. Jeffrey Droessler, ordained last year, will come to our parish after finishing his Licentiate Degree in Spirituality in Rome. Please extend our heartfelt welcome to both of them and support them all so we can move forward as one family of God, always united and working together in fulfilling our mission for the glory of God and the salvation of souls!

May God bless you all!

Your servant-steward/brother in Christ,

Fr. Martin
